The Best Way to Straighten Teeth

Orthodontic treatment can be done with braces or clear aligners, but Invisalign is widely recognized as the most advanced clear aligner system available.

With Invisalign in Cornwall, ON, your treatment starts with precise 3D digital scans to create custom trays that are fitted in person for optimal comfort and discretion. The aligners are removable, easy to clean, and let you enjoy your favourite foods while maintaining great oral hygiene. You’ll start seeing results in just a few weeks, with full treatment often completed in as little as six months.

Great Ortho Experience

For a Beautiful Smile and a Healthier Life

Straight teeth aren’t just about aesthetics—they play a key role in your long-term oral and overall health. While crooked teeth might not seem like a concern if they don’t cause discomfort, misalignment can lead to serious dental and medical issues over time.

In fact, nearly 9 out of 10 people have some degree of crowding or misalignment, which can contribute to:

  • Chipped or worn front teeth
  • Food getting trapped between teeth
  • Difficulty flossing and cleaning properly
  • Increased risk of cavities between teeth
  • Gum disease, which has been linked to serious health concerns like heart disease, Alzheimer’s, arthritis, and stroke

When teeth aren’t in the correct position, they can’t function as they should—and may not last a lifetime without intervention.

If you’re noticing any of these issues, we invite you to schedule an appointment. We’ll assess your oral health and explore solutions that support both your smile and your overall well-being.

When Is the Right Time to Start?

If you’ve been thinking about straightening your teeth—or your dentist recently recommended it—there’s no better time to begin than now. Waiting often leads to more months (or years) of dissatisfaction, increased risk of tooth damage, and added oral health complications. And remember, teeth continue to shift over time.

The longer you wait, the more out of alignment your teeth may become. The more movement required, the longer treatment may take. It’s easier, faster, and often more affordable to address alignment issues before they become severe.

And don’t worry—treatment is manageable. You don’t have to pay the full cost upfront. Our team will walk you through flexible payment options used by many of our patients to make starting treatment stress-free and accessible.

What to Expect When You Start Invisalign Treatment

Our goal is to help you achieve a healthier smile that’s both beautiful and functional. Straight teeth aren’t just cosmetic—they contribute to better oral health and long-term wellness. And it’s never too late to benefit from orthodontic treatment.

Your Treatment Plan

Your journey begins with digital scans of your teeth. Using advanced Invisalign software, we’ll map out a step-by-step treatment plan and even show you a preview of how your smile will transform over time. Once the plan is finalized, your custom aligners are created using Invisalign’s state-of-the-art 3D printing process.

Wearing Your First Aligners

When your aligners arrive, small attachments may be temporarily bonded to your teeth to help the aligners stay in place and guide movement. These fasteners are nearly invisible and will be removed once treatment is complete.

Follow-Up Appointments

You’ll receive a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, each one gradually shifting your teeth into place. We’ll schedule follow-up appointments every 4 to 8 weeks to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments, ensuring everything stays on track.

Frequently Asked Questions

Invisalign is often considered more comfortable and discreet than traditional braces. The clear, custom-fit trays are barely noticeable—and can be removed for meals, important events, or photos. Unlike metal brackets, Invisalign trays are smooth and gentle on the inside of your mouth. They also apply a gentler, more controlled pressure by moving just a few teeth at a time, making treatment far more comfortable overall.

Invisalign gently shifts your teeth over time. While some pressure or mild discomfort is normal—especially when starting a new set of trays—it’s generally less painful than braces. Most patients adjust quickly, but if you’re experiencing significant discomfort, let us know so we can help.

Most Invisalign treatments take between 6 to 12 months, depending on your specific needs. You may begin to notice subtle changes within the first six weeks. As with any orthodontic treatment, the more correction needed, the longer the process will take.

Remove your aligners twice a day to clean both your trays and your teeth. Rinse the trays each time you remove them, and avoid leaving them out in open air. You can soak them in Invisalign cleaning crystals or denture cleaner, but always rinse thoroughly before reinserting. Don’t eat or drink while wearing them, and avoid cleaning them with toothpaste, which can cause scratching. We’ll provide you with detailed instructions when you begin treatment.

No, you should always remove your aligners before eating. Chewing while wearing aligners can damage or crack them, and it’s not comfortable or hygienic. Take them out, enjoy your meal, then brush and rinse before putting them back in.

Yes, you should wear your Invisalign trays while sleeping. They need to be worn for 20–22 hours a day to stay effective. The only time they should be removed is when you’re eating, drinking anything other than water, or cleaning your teeth and trays.
